Womens news

Hello Ladies,

I thought it was time you heard from me again with a bit of catch up news.

9 hole Tri Series

For those of you not familiar with this competition it is a match play competition our 9 hole ladies play. It is divided into areas - Central, South, East, and West. Our ladies are West and we have Maungakiekie and Titirangi in our group. They play one home and away game with each club. Titirangi was too strong again this year and won our section so will go into the final against Remuera, Onewhero and Whitford Park at a date later in the year.

Final Pennant results.

So close to podium finishes for our teams this year. Several of our teams had come from behind to put themselves into contention for a final placing but alas it wasn't to be. However I have to say well done again ladies, we have good strong teams going into next year. A big thanks to all our Captains - Sian Kelly, Marg Lay, Judy Hannan, Wendy Shuttleworth, Sinead Keaney, Anne Familton, Fiona Caldwell and well me!

Our Betty Faesen  Team was piped at the post (by one point) by first-time winners Remuera.

The A Pennant team had a slow start but continued to improve and also  put themselves into the position to worry the eventual winners Remuera .

Weekend teams, Section A finished 4th and Section B, 3rd.  The final section results were all so close. The ultimate winner was Titirangi over RAGGC.

Midweek Teams, both teams  finished 2nd    in their section with  not many points separating  the 1st and 2nd places. Result of the 3-way playoff  today was Titirangi #1 who won by 1 point from Titirangi #2

Next on the agenda is the Pennant review, tba.

National Teams Day.

Our Team, 2 midweek and 2-weekend ladies of Rae Riggir Fiona Caldwell, Judy Hannan, and Yunhee Cochrane came 8th out of 15 teams. Winners were Titirangi (yes, again) on a count back from the Wattle Downs team.
